The third installment in Sega's popular Ryu ga Gotoku (a.k.a. Yakuza) games, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! takes the series somewhere it's never been before: back to the past! While previous games took place in modern urban environments, Kenzan! takes place during the Edo period. The player takes on the role of Kazumanosuke Kiryu, a fallen samurai who guards Gion, a red-light district in Kyoto. Soon after the game begins, Kiryu is hired by a young girl to kill someone: the legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto. But Miyamoto was Kiryu's past identity. Why is he being hired to kill himself?
Like the previous Ryu ga Gotoku games, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! provides an exceptionally deep gameplay experience, encompassing 3-D fighting, exploration, role-playing, minigames, and more in order to create a living, breathing in-game world. Kenzan! brings 16th century Japan to life with stunning next-gen graphics, and promises a detailed, rich storyline with many twists and turns. The game doesn't skimp on action either, allowing for various types of combat, including hand-to-hand, wielding a heavy or light sword, or wielding two swords - Musashi Miyamoto's famed specialty. Many famous actors have also lent their talents to Kenzan!, including popular idol Shota Matsuda (Hana Yori Dango) and famous character actor Takenaka Naoto (Shall We Dance?), adding to the game's already cinematic feel. |
